That is why the hotel has its own mud supply system. The mud is extracted from the lake, heat-treated and delivered directly to the mud therapy area.

This way its healing power is used in full during the procedures.

Healing mud

The mud is a natural product of Lake Pomorie. It forms on the lake bed through biological, chemical and microbiological processes.

Mud treatments have an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effect and improve the metabolism. They are suitable for pain in the knees, hips, lower back and spine.

Lye

Lye is the end product of salt production in Pomorie. It remains when the lake water evaporates in the salt pans and the salt crystallises. It is rich in calcium, sodium, magnesium, chlorine, bromine, sulphates and bicarbonates. Its composition is close to that of the mud solution, so it acts in a similar way to healing mud.

The most popular method is the compress. The lye is heated to 37–38 °C and applied to the affected area.

Mandatory

You start the procedures according to the programme. We recommend at least five days of treatment for a satisfactory result.

Tell us in advance

Let us know if you have an oncological disease, if you have had a heart attack or stroke in the last two years, if you have recently had surgery or if you are pregnant. The doctor will decide which procedures are suitable for you.
